Secutex® Nonwoven
Secutex® is a single-layered, mechanically bonded, nonwoven geotextile. Secutex® geotextiles are used in many fields of civil engineering including hydraulic engineering, landfill engineering, road construction and tunnel construction. As a separation layer, Secutex® prevents individual and distinct granular layers from contaminating one another. Thus, structural fill and base courses maintain their integrity for a substantially longer period of time than otherwise possible. When fine soil layers are present next to drainage layers on highway or railway construct ion projects, Secutex® functions as a filter preventing fine soil particles from washing through and compromising the drainage ability of the coarser layers.
Product Information: Secutex® nonwoven geotextiles are mechanically bonded (needle-punched) to provide highly durable protection and long-term separation and filtration functionality. A variety of geotextile weights, ranging from 300g/m² and above, provides robust protection and optimal separation and filtration design usage. Secutex® enables engineers to specify the appropriate nonwoven to meet landfill performance needs and product approval authority guidelines.
Secutex geotextiles are used where high strength is required to provide a high degree of protection against puncture. Geotextile, when used as a protection layer acts as a cushioning barrier between a geosynthetic lining system such as in a dam or landfill cell. Defending the geomembrane from any damage from external forces coming into contact with the liner and reducing local stresses is imperative. This ability to act as a protection layer enables structural fill and base courses to maintain their reliability for longer periods of time. It is therefore paramount that the correct nonwoven needle punched geotextile cushion is specified, selected and then installed.
Secutex geotextiles are offered in a weight range of between 800g / m2 to in excess of 3000g / m2.
