ProCoir™ Coir Logs
Coir Logs are made from well cleaned, high strength, freshwater cured coconut fibre. Coconut fibre is extracted from coconut husks which are submerged in freshwater streams or storage tanks for a period of several months. During this process known as retting, water constantly flows through the coir fibre matrix removing impurities present in the fibre. The clean fibre is extracted and spun into yarn which is then woven into Coir Mat and Coir Logs.
ProCoir™ coconut fibre logs are comprised of 100% biodegradable coir fibre tightly bound by a coir yarn netting which maintains its density & shields the structure against mechanical & hydraulic stresses.

Product Information
ProCoir™ coir logs are made from natural fibres which degrade over time whilst encouraging natural revegetation for long term security & protection. ProCoir™ systems do not require bulk earthworks or invasive site preparation prior to or during installation. Coir logs are extremely easy & quick to install. Timber stakes either driven adjacent to or through the units secure them in place. Coir logs are significantly less expensive than drop structures or rip rap protection. Coir logs installation does not require specialist labour or equipment & can be installed by a small inexperienced crew.
Applications
ProCoir™ Geologs are deal for riverbank scour protection, silt entrapment, wave dissipation, runoff & stream diversion, spill containment as well as aquatic/wetland plant protection & buttressing on revegetation projects. Coir logs are attached at the edge of the bank and secured by wooden pegs. Pegs may be used on alternate on the outer edge to firmly secure the log to the bank.
Features and Benefits
Strength: Coir logs are durable & remain structurally sound throughout the natural life of the system. They withstand wave energies which often require ‘hard armour’ solutions.
Filtration: Rather than providing an impermeable barrier, Coirlogs allow water transmission whilst trapping sediment, reducing turbidity in the main water body.
Environmental: Coir logs are made from natural fibres which degrade over time whilst encouraging natural revegetation for long term security & protection. These systems do not require bulk earthworks or invasive site preparation prior to or during installation.
Construction: Coir logs are extremely easy & quick to install. Timber stakes are driven adjacent to the units to secure them in place. Feel free to consult our staff for advice on installation for each individual project.
Cost-effective: Coir logs are significantly less expensive than retaining walls or rip rap protection. ProCoir™ coir log installation does not require specialist labour or equipment & can be installed by a small inexperienced crew.
