The Project

In October 2024, Milestone Building Contractors were tasked with a unique project: relocating an old swimming pool built against a stunning cliffside in Sydney Bayview. The pool, originally positioned to take in the views of the surrounding landscape, was to be moved to a new, carefully chosen spot on the property. However, the location presented a significant challenge.

Due to the difficult cliff-face terrain, the traditional approach to backfilling the pool site would be both time-consuming and costly. This approach would have created logistical challenges for moving materials and machinery, whilst trying to preserve the integrity of the surrounding environment. This was no ordinary pool relocation, and it required an innovative solution.

The Solution

Rather than relying on traditional backfilling methods, Milestone Building Contractors turned to a highly versatile Global Synthetics product: the ProTank® Modular Tanking System. ProTank’s modular design allowed it to be easily transported to the cliffside site and assembled efficiently. Its lightweight structure made transportation quicker and less disruptive to the surrounding environment than backfilling with traditional heavier materials.
