DRAINTUBE™ is a range of multi-linear drainage geocomposites, designed for high performance drainage applications in the civil construction, landfill and mining sectors. DRAINTUBE® CONDUCTIVE is part of this range and adds the extra benefit of electrical leak detection in addition to the drainage, filtration and mechanical protection offered by DRAINTUBE™.
DRAINTUBE® CONDUCTIVE adds a conductive grid made of stainless-steel wires woven on a 50 mm spaced nylon fibre mesh. The addition of the conductive grid in this product allows for leak detection by geo-electrical methods, protects the geomembrane from being punctured, and drains any leakage during operation.
There are multiple uses for DRAINTUBE® CONDUCTIVE. These include:
Protecting groundwater from infiltration of mine tailings and process water
Confinement systems installed on a natural soil later with low or variable conductivity (e.g. layers of dry material).
Checking for leaks during construction and draining any leachate leakage during operation
One Product for Many Needs
DRAINTUBE® CONDUCTIVE has the benefits of both a drainage geocomposite and a conductive grid, incorporating drainage, filtration, mechanical protection and electrical conductivity features all into a single product requiring a single installation. The standard requirements of DRAINTUBE® installation apply, including procedures for overlapping panels and the connection of mini-drains.
Quick and Easy Installation
The system is quick and easy to install and offers significant cost reductions, improved performance and a reduced environmental impact as a replacement of granular layers. The installation of a double geomembrane liner and a geoelectric leak detection campaign increases the safety of the entire system with respect to environmental risks. DRAINTUBE® CONDUCTIVE will remain functional for many years even in humid environments, a great alternative to other products (e.g. aluminium or other conductive materials) which degrade within a few months after installation.
